Gotham is DC's long-awaited television series with Gotham city's Detective James Gordon as the main character, played by Ben McKenzie. We're finally less than a month away from its premiere. The TV show serves as a prequel to the Batman film series, and now has a new trailer; it shows how evil started rising in the city, along with trouble for the detective.
The newly released trailer finds James Gordon consoling fututre Batman, Bruce Wayne, after the murder of the young kid's parents, while the detective goes as far as to come up against the Penguin. As darkness and evil rise in the city, the short clip leaves us filled with hope, as we hear Gordon promising there will be light in this dark world.
The show is set to follow the detective in his adventures as he manages to keep Gotham city a safe and non-corrupted place, starting from his early years in the police force. However, if you hope to see young Bruce Wayne in Batman's costume, the showrunner says you will be left disappointed. As a matter of fact, we will be no strangers to most of the evil forces that will be featured in the series. Villains scheduled to appear include Catwoman, the Penguin, the Riddler, a young Poison Ivy, as well as the Joker, Harvey Dent, Hugo Strange, and Mr Freeze.
Gotham premieres on September 22, on Fox. Watch the new trailer below!
