British actor Nicholas Hoult is everywhere lately. The 23-year-old has managed to bag some seriously pined after roles in films such as X-Men: First ClassWarm Bodies, and even Jack The Giant Slayer. Okay, the latter was with Jennifer Garner. It’s not so bad. The Skins‘ actor, while having many awesome roles under his belt, admits that he has not gotten every film he has gone out for, reports EW.

Hoult told EW, “There are hundreds you audition for and give terrible auditions for. Sometimes I walk out and I’m like, ‘Wow, that was embarrassing.’”

Luckily for us, it wasn’t so embarrassing that Hoult wouldn’t divulge his worst story.

“One of my all-time worst [auditions] was definitely Prince Caspian.” They asked if I could do a Hispanic accent. I was like, ‘What would I base that on?’ They were like, ‘Have you seen Shrek? Puss in Boots,” he said.

Hoult says that while he did prepare for the audition, he did not prepare for an accent of any kind.  He said, “I was doing the scene, but in my head before saying each line, I was trying to do my Antonio Banderas impression, saying [in a Desperado voice] ‘I am Prince Caspian!’ It was horrendous. It sounded more like Borat.”

Ben Barnes went on to play the role of Prince Caspian in Narnia, but Hoult, who has been filming for other films in the meantime, isn’t complaining. He ended up just fine.
