Greg Laswell is an indie/folk singer who recently released his seventh studio album Everyone Thinks I Dodged A Bullet. His music is the kind that can take your mind away to a peaceful place but if you listen closely to the lyrics, they pack a punch. Laswell was most recently featured on NBC's The Blacklist, well, his song was. The title single 'Everyone Thinks I Dodged A Bullet' was used in the last moments of the season three finale and it has haunted fans of The Blacklist ever since.

Let's get into this album. Laswell hails from California and he has an amazing voice that will haunt you in the best way possible. His songs are all great but we'd like to give a shoutout to our favorites off of this album. We obviously enjoyed 'Everyone Thinks I Dodged A Bullet' immensely since we watched The Blacklist and it was the leading factor of bringing us to this treasure of an album. That song will change you, trust us. After it, we love 'Out Of Line' which uses soft vocals paired lyrics that, like we mentioned above, gut punch you. His music kind of reminds us of a mixture between Coldplay and Gotye.

We also found ourselves entranced with 'Watch You Burn' which slides into a more pop vibe. We are not saying it is pop by any means but it could definitely exist among the pop stations. 'Take It Easy' reminds us of '

Everyone Thinks I

Dodged A Bullet' and therefore, we love it. We can't say enough about this album. We loved every moment of it and for someone who listens to mostly top 40, it is a refreshing wake up call to real music.

Take a listen and let us know what you think. We are about to take the plunge into the rest of his work and we can't wait to see what other treasures we may uncover. Great album, Greg Laswell! He isn't currently touring but we know we'll grab a ticket when he does. We've included a link to the last five minutes of The Blacklist finale so you can hear the powerful song. But beware, there are spoilers for the show itself.
