Staff WriterWe can now put a face to How I Met Your Mother’s spinoff, How I Met Your Dad. Greta Gerwig is set to play the female version of Ted Mosby. The genius co-creators of the beloved How I Met Your Mother, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, have once again started working on the new comedy and have decided to bring Emily Spivey on board as an Executive Producer for a female perspective. Should the series get picked up past the pilot, Gerwig will also be given the title of producer, and is even expected to write some for the new spinoff series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Much Like in HIMYM, the new series will be from the mother’s point of view. While it is considered a spinoff, the characters are going to be a fresh set of faces, and all new stories. Sally, the new Ted Mosby, has been described as someone who has never grown up, or a “Peter Pan.” Much unlike in the original series, Sally is married when we meet her in the Pilot episode. She realizes that she has little in common with her husband of less than a year. While it is clear the newlyweds will not make it, viewers see that Sally has a group of people she can depend on, including her family and friends. The trio of Bays, Thomas, and Spivey are hard at work developing a script for the pilot and beyond, along with How I Met You Mother executive producer Pam Fryman. While the pilot episode is being filmed in Los Angles, if and when the series is picked up, the filming will then move to the big apple, New York. For the details that have emerged, this series is bound to be Legend...wait for it….you guessed it: DARY! Let us know what you think! Are you excited about the new series?
