Guyville Unveil Their Debut Single “Nothing”

‘…“Nothing” is an attention-grabbing recovery-inspired anthem….’

Americana meets garage rock duo Guyville – indie rock riser Kat Hamilton and pop songwriter Emily Hulslander – are both heavily influenced by 90’s alt rocker Liz Phair and, finding their song-writing partnership to be effortless and emotive, united to form a band named after one of Phair’s most prolific releases. Today, PopWrapped are delighted to premiere their debut single “Nothing” and its video. As a track that combines Kat’s candid storytelling and witty lyricism with Emily’s pop sensibility and pension for writing strong hooks, “Nothing” is an attention-grabbing recovery-inspired anthem.

The song is all about that magical feeling of finally being over someone completely. It’s the complete indifference when we know we are over a past relationship that didn’t serve us, and “Nothing” highlights that happy moment perfectly. Sonically, “Nothing” combines 90s country influence a-la Shania Twain with stripped down production, complete with gritty garage guitars and raw Americana-infused layered vocals. The vibrant and fun-loving accompanying music video sees the pair dancing along the beach without a care in the world, further highlighting the song’s cheerful “hallelujah message” of closure.
