Season two of NBC’s sleeper hit Hannibal has gotten underway, and things are starting to get a little sexy! Today it was announced that Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon will join the fray this time around.

Bryan Fuller, the show’s mad genius of a creator, broke the news to his Twitter followers shortly after it was published by TVLine.

Nixon will take on the role of one Detective Jack Crawford’s bosses, a woman named Kade Purnell. Purnell works at the Office of the Inspector General in FBI Oversight (try saying all that three times fast! She is investigating the events of the previous season – specifically, how able Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) is. As we left it, his somewhat recent hiree, Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) was being charged with a number of brutal murders after being framed by Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen).

Where the show goes from here, we can only imagine! Bryan Fuller, the show’s creator, is completely unpredictable (as we all know by now).

Hannibal returns to NBC at midseason.
