At yesterday’s premiere of Ender’s Game outside Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, the film’s star, Harrison Ford, thought a lot about his past. Three decades ago, Harrison Ford played Han Solo in the memorable, and original, Star Wars trilogy. While he may have played the independent rebel in all the three films, he noted that those days are long behind him. “Asa is more like Han Solo in this movie than I am,” Ford mused, referring to Ender’s Game co-star Asa Butterfield. ”I’m more of the intermediary for the audience.” After starring alongside Ford in Ender’s, Asa feels like they’re destined to work together again, this time in the upcoming Star Wars film. “I’m trying to slip a word in. I’m writing him little notes and whispering into his ear when he’s asleep. Asa Butterfield…Han Solo Junior…” Director Gavin Hood spoke about Asa’s audition, which marveled the director. “I had seen all these kids and they had to be vulnerable yet be strong enough to stand up to Harrison Ford. None of them could do that until we got Asa. Once that happened, I was able to relax because I knew I could make the film work.” “Because of all the kids, we locked the script early, so the film looks how I originally expected,” he continued. “When I shot X-Men Origins: Wolverine, they were changing the script as we shot. Shooting Wolverine was really my trial-by-fire that got me ready for this.” Ender’s Game will be released this Friday, and has already begun to receive good reviews according to the website Rotten Tomatoes (which holds the film at 69% based on 26 reviews). http://www.Twitter.com/PopWrapped https://pop-wrapped.tumblr.com http://www.SoundCloud.com/PopWrapped http://www.Facebook.com/PopWrapped http://www.Instagram.com/PopWrapped http://www.Pinterest.com/PopWrapped http://www.YouTube.com/PopWrapped https://pop-wrapped.wordpress.com http://www.PopWrapped.com
