Harry Shum Jr. will once again put on his acting hat in the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon sequel directed by Woo-ping Yuen. Production for the sequel began just this week, and is going to be shot in both New Zealand and China.
The backing behind this martial arts drama is The Weinstein Co. and includes Donnie Yen as Silent Wolf. Michelle Yeoh is going to play Yu Shu-lien, and Shum’s character is Tie-Fang. The sequel was written by John Fusco, and is set twenty years after the original movie. It will focus on the events that happened during Crouching Tiger, and will follow the four martial arts heroes: Silent Wolf, Yu Shu-lien, Tie-Fang, and Snow Vase.
Who’s excited for a Crouching Tiger sequel? Do you think that it is going to measure up to the first? At least give me a show of hands for those happy Harry Shum Jr. got the lead role? Harry works incredibly hard, and definitely deserved this leading role! He also recently wrapped up shooting on another film he was a part of, Revenge of the Green Dragons, where he appears beside Ray Liotta.
As we get more information regarding the sequel to Crouching Tiger we will definitely pass it along to you! As for now, make sure you congratulate Harry on his new role! We look forward to seeing you on our screens once more!
