Looks like Harry Styles is celebrating his birthday with some professional restructuring...
According to reports from both The Sun newspaper and Billboard, One Direction member Harry Styles has departed with his UK management team Modest. Styles will now be joining the Los Angeles based CAA Management. Modest confirmed the crooner's departure via a statement to Billboard.
"We wish Harry the very best. It has been a real pleasure working with him" executives for the company Richard Griffiths and Harry Magee wrote. They continued, adding "Harry is a total gentleman, and we know our good friend Jeffrey Azoff will look after him. We look forward to sharing some great wine with them next time we are in L.A."
Styles will be managed by top CAA agent Jeffrey Azoff, who so happens to be a close friend of the singer and one of the top agents in the music business. The son of Irving Azoff, who is Live Nation Entertainment's chairman, Jeffrey joined the talent agency back in 2012 and has worked with a host of well known musicians including Avril Lavigne and The Eagles.
Does this mean bad news for the remaining One Directioners? After Zayn's departure earlier last year, many have questioned how long the boyband would last. An insider assured Billboard "nothing has changed regarding the hiatus plans for the group, and all will be revealed in due time from the band members' own mouths."
Sources close to the star however told The Sun that Harry is in no rush to create new music and may possibly start as early as next year.
"He still plans to take some time off before getting into work. It’s possible his music might not come until next year."
Styles is still signed to Simon Cowell's label Syco, but only time will tell if he will leave that one as well.
