@ShaneAveryI'm going to state immediately, that I do find Joan Rivers funny. She's a comedienne and it's what she does.
However, I do believe there is a fine line between a joke and taking it too far. This time? She's gone too far. When appearing on The Today Show on April 22nd, Joan Rivers made a tasteless joke in regards to the women who were kidnapped by Ariel Castro. She said "those women in the basement in Cleveland had more space" than what Joan got when visiting her daughter. The remark caught traction VERY quickly, with the victims Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus's attorneys wanting an apology from Joan. It is being reported that the girls were very offended by Joan's "joke". If you'll all recall, the girls were held captive by Ariel Castro and raped over the course of 10 years. But, to no one's surprise, Joan's refusing to apologize....and kinda made things worse: "I'm a comedienne. I know what those girls went through. It was a little, stupid joke. There is nothing to apologize for. I made a joke. That's what I do. Calm down. Calm f--king down. I'm a comedienne. They're free, so let's move on.'' "They got to live rent free for more than a decade," she continued. "One of them has a book deal. Neither are in a psych ward. They're okay," she said. "I bet you within 3 years one of them will be on Dancing with the Stars." WOW. What do you guys make of Joan's remarks? Do you think she crossed a line or is it all fair game when you're a comedian?
