The youngest Olsen sister is rumored to be Joss Whedon’s new frontrunner for the role of the Scarlet Witch in the upcoming sequel, The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The spotlight is shining on Elizabeth Olsen after Whedon’s alleged first choice, Saoirse Ronan, denied involvement, reports Digital Spy.
The role of Scarlet Witch is significant, as she is the daughter of X-Men super-villain Magneto, and the sister of Quicksilver; a role that Aaron Tyler-Johnson is rumored to be taking on.
Fox and Marvel Studios share the rights to Scarlet Witch, as well as Quicksilver, as they are conglomerated with both X-Men and the Avengers.
Whedon shared the exciting news of the addition of these sibling last April. And we can expect to see The Avengers: Age of Ultron in theaters on May 1, 2015. (Far too long, if you ask me.)
