Hayden Everett drops self-titled EP

Hayden Everett has just dropped his awesome self-titled EP, “Hayden Everett“, and there is honestly a track for everyone to enjoy, and we are sure that you’re going to be just as obsessed as we are.

“These 5 songs ended up being a very linear progression of doubt to resolution. It’s pretty beautiful to be able to stand back and observe the growth that happened throughout the record from song to song. Both lyrically and sonically, the album goes from frustration and noise to resignation, to realization and celebration, and finally to peace and assurance in the last track.” Hayden explains.

We caught up with Hayden to get a little bit more information on what influenced his sound, these tracks, and much more.

To go into a little more detail, “Who Are You” expresses doubt and questions surrounding identity and the power of love. The song contrasts hypocrisy with authenticity.

“All Else” dives into the idea of evil, pain, and suffering, and recognizes their realness. Despite that, it finishes by affirming our protection and recognizes the power and purpose of empathy within it all.

“For I Fear”, while doubting the existence of love, affirms our spiritual nature and temporary existence in tangible bodies.

“Color” is where things start to turn from doubt to realization. We so commonly get fixated on stuff that ultimately disappoints — image and money and status and things. ‘Color’ marks a point where I realized my priorities in the most convicting sense. It captures the tension of holding this conviction while not yet fully acting on it.”

“Loud” is a song of resolution to doubt and questions. The observation of unconditional and nonexclusive love and grace rises above the noise of heavy questions. While these frustrations and questions are still fully valid, their significance becomes lessened next to simple truths

We are so excited to be following Hayden on his journey as a singer/songwriter and we can’t wait to see the huge moves he makes.
