Back in October, PopWrapped introduced you to the world of talented artist, Lexy Hulme. If you remember the article than you'll remember another person mentioned in that article, the other half of Lexy's partnership Ce and Lu, Ms. Celia Rowlson-Hall (also known as Celia Rascal-Hall). Rowlson-Hall is known for her raw unapologetic style of film which makes her stand out from other director/choreographer/performers out there. To give an example of one of her well-known videos that push the boundaries, here's a video that she created call "THE AUDITION". It's a Vimeo Staff Pick and one of the best videos I've ever seen. Ms. Hulme described the video as "her[Celia's] beautiful and brutally honest depiction of the lengths one might go through to make it in ‘SHOWBIZ!’". Rowlson-Hall says the video is "for every ACTOR, DANCER, PERFORMER, MODEL, MUSICIAN out there." Watch THE AUDITION from Celia Rowlson-Hall on Vimeo. That might be one of her most well-known works now, but she's currently hoping to get her biggest work yet out there in the form of a feature film. It won't be just any film though but a "modern day silent film". The film will be called "MA" and is about "the story of a virgin mother on a pilgrimage to Las Vegas to give birth to our savior". She describes it as "[being] about the end of the beginning.  It’s about loneliness, and wanting to be more. Finally, it is about love: that of man, of nature, of god, of woman, and of possibility."

She recently spoke to Vogue about the project and talked about how she'll be directing, choreographing, and starring in the film as well as how she'll be bringing the story to life: “I will be directing and I will be starring. It’s actually a silent feature film, a lot of the story is told through movement—so I’ll be choreographing as well, and using a lot of actors that are really strong movers, and dancers that are strong actors.” Rowlson-Hall plans to tell the story of a virgin mother “on a pilgrimage to Las Vegas to give birth to our savior.” Sound a bit strange? “Yeah, it’s definitely more of a dreamscape world,” she says with a laugh. “There’s a lot of metaphor, imagery—it’s really a culmination of my short films and the aesthetic style that I’ve been building with my nonverbal way of storytelling.” She has everything all planned out from the scripts, casts, and even locations, but she can't make it happen without a little help. Tons of groups and artists from Team Starkid to Scrub's Zach Braff have used Kickstarter to make their projects happen and Celia is hoping to do the same. She launched a Kickstarter because she needs your help and in her words here's why: "The final and most humbling step in bringing MA to life is this: asking for your help. It simply won’t happen without you. There are sets to build, flights to book, professionals to pay, equipment to rent, and so much more. I’m going to pour my entire being into bringing this story to life, and I will be forever grateful for whatever you can contribute, however small. This project is my dream, and I can’t thank you enough for your support." There are currently 4 days left until her fundraiser ends on January 1, 2014 and she's currently about 6,800 dollars away from her 50,000 dollar goal. She's so close to making her dream happen so if you have the chance please check out her Kickstarter and donate to her project! Every dollar will help in making this a reality so if you can donate please do so. With a talent like Rowlson-Hall she deserves to get the chance to make this dream a reality, so please help her out and spread the word; she can meet her goal by the new year!
