Netflix Renews Hemlock Grove For Third And Final Season | Hemlock Grove

While I should be elated to learn that Netflix has picked up its hit horror series Hemlock Grove for a third season, I'm filled with grief as it has unfortunately been confirmed to be the final installment. Executive Producer of the series Eli Roth confirms, saying:
We are so grateful to the fans of Hemlock Grove, who have championed the series so intensely over two seasons, we are looking forward to taking the last and final season into some dark and unexpected places, and to giving viewers the killer finale you’d come to expect from Hemlock Grove.
Hemlock Grove welcomed Charles "Chic" Eglee as the showrunner for the second season, with Eglee set to return with his same position for the concluding horror franchise who adds:
We are delighted that our fans have invited us back to explore the fiendish recesses of the human condition for another season. Knowing it will be our last gives us the opportunity to go out in a mushroom cloud of clever and soul-shattering mayhem. See you soon on the twisted streets of Hemlock Grove.
Hemlock Grove served as a major turning point for Netflix original series, in my opinion, proving the diverse roster of shows they could produce and the ability to spawn a wide fan base. Cindy Holland, the VP of original programming for Netflix, shared her love for the series and its creative team along with confirming the series coming to an end, as explained in her official press release:
We, along with the fans, are looking forward to visiting Hemlock Grove one last time, and we know that Chic, Eli and the team will provide a riveting and mind-bending conclusion to complete the series.
As a fan from the beginning, I am absolutely thrilled that we have another chance to see our favorite creep-tastic town, and a proper conclusion as opposed to the massive WTF cliffhanger ending from season two. Hopefully in the third season we will be granted more Roman/Peter moments, a lot more Shelley and some answers about the dreams and mythology still left open. Is it pointless to hold out hope that Netflix will change their minds and confirm a fourth season, or is that just me grasping at whatever hope I have left?
