It has been two weeks since Man of Steel first hit theaters and it’s still soaring in the box offices grossing about $400 million worldwide.
Before the Superman reboot even hit theaters, rumors were spreading that this would be the movie to expand the DC universe and bring the Justice League to life, much like Captain America and Iron Man did for Marvel’s The Avengers.
David Goyer, the co-writer of Man of Steel, recently revealed that Warner Bros may go in a different direction for the Justice League franchise in comparison to The Avengers, instead starting out with a group film then branching out to the individual characters like Wonder Woman and The Flash.
But what does Superman himself, Henry Cavill, have to say about it?
In a recent interview with ABC News, Cavill doesn’t seem too keen about a Justice League coming so soon.
Cavill believes that it would take time to properly introduce the other characters into the real world setting Man of Steel is placed in, noting that the superheroes in the DC Universe are all god-like and very powerful.
“It has to be done very delicately with a lot of thought. So, it won’t be right away. I hope it’s not, anyway. It may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them together in one way or another.”
It definitely would be interesting to see how Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and other JLA members fit into the Man of Steel world.
Either way, it looks like Cavill will still be very busy in the Superman suit with the Man of Steel sequel rumored to be already in the works.
