Heroes is coming back. I'm still not sure if I've mentally prepared myself for its return, after the show ending on the worst/best kind of cliffhanger.
Still, here we are in 2015 and the cult television show is returning with a new cast - mostly, a small number of classic characters are returning - and assumedly, a whole new story to tell.
This leads us to the new promo which was revealed for Heroes Reborn, coming to NBC on September 24th.
The theme of disappearance is running throughout this promo - including a soaring rendition of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" performed by Scala - and asks a simple question - Where have all the Heroes gone?
In the video, we see saddened citizens from around the world asking where their heroes have gone. Presumably, we're heading back to the Heroes universe several years in the future, and assuming the heroes have evaded public life since the events at the end of the original series.
So where have they gone? What will bring them back? These questions and more will seemingly be answered this fall.
According to the official synopsis:
The saga behind the 2006 breakout series Heroes will continue as creator Tim Kring returns to the fold and develops new layers to his original superhero concept. This highly anticipated 13-episode miniseries will reconnect with the basic elements of the show’s first season where ordinary people were waking up to the fact that they had extraordinary abilities. This series will be preceded by a new digital series that will introduce audiences to the new characters and storylines that will take the Heroes phenomenon to new places.
Heroes Reborn will return on September 24th on NBC.
