Hilary Duff hit the studio to record a cover of the classic Fleetwood Mac song Little Lies for the season 2 promo of her TV Land series Younger. The result is a haunting electro pop tune with a driving dance beat and smooth, sexy vocals. Layered synths and echoing vocals come together to form a moody, atmospheric song that is completely different from Fleetwood Mac’s original.
Fleetwood Mac released Little Lies in 1987 on their album Tango In The Night. The song was their last top 10 hit in the United States, spending four weeks at number one on the charts.
This latest version is produced by Peer Astrom, Adam Anders and Alex Anders. No strangers to crafting cool, unique versions of popular songs, the trio worked together on the Rock Of Ages movie soundtrack and produced many of the catchy covers featured on FOX’s Glee.
TV Land’s Younger follows Liza Miller (Sutton Foster), a 40-something, recently divorced mom who re-enters the workforce at a big publishing house when she lies about her age. Duff plays Kelsey Peters, an ambitious young editor and mentor to Liza who cheats on her boyfriend with a sexy older writer.
Little Lies is the perfect song to accompany the season 2 promo but it does leave us with one, burning question: When can we buy the single? Younger returns to TV Land January 13.
