Oh snap! It’s a battle of the blondes this week, with Joan Rivers and Jennifer Lawrence verbally throwing down. Jennifer Lawrence went on record when speaking with Yahoo! that she does not support Joan Rivers’ Fashion Police as they perpetuate the mentality “that it’s okay to point at people and call them ugly and fat.” Fashion Police is a show about fashion; a highly subjective and opinion-oriented topic. Rivers, joined by co hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos, basically grade celeb fashions from major award shows and general appearances from the week before. It is superficial. It is shallow. It is judgmental. But these hosts make no bones about it, and since fashion just so happens to be all of those things, also; the show makes perfect sense. Sure they can be a little mean-spirited sometimes, especially Joan, who gives out her fair share of tongue-lashings and crude jokes. But it’s entertaining, and these people are on the show for a reason. They are big players in the fashion world; they know what they’re talking about. In true celebrity feud fashion, Rivers took to twitter to air her grievances with Lawrence’s comments: Lawrence has been on quite a kick lately, explaining that she feels she has a great opportunity to promote positive body image vibes through her heroine character, Katniss Everdeen, in The Hunger Games movies. "It's better to look strong and healthy," she mused. "Kate Moss running at you with a bow and arrow wouldn't be scary." Lawrence also recently offered her opinion on stars like Miley Cyrus, calling the industry practice of pushing “young sex” “disgusting.” Lawrence certainly has a lot of opinions on the subject! What do you think? Are you team Joan or Jlaw in this newest celebrity feud? Sound off in the comments and let us know where you stand!
