@KateMcHale42Hope Solo has never been one to shy away from the spotlight, or speak her mind. The U.S National Women’s Soccer team goalie has recently found herself in the spotlight once again, this time for her arrest. The Olympic gold medalist was arrested on assault charges while at a family function this past weekend. Solo’s 17-year-old nephew was reportedly forced to pull a gun on his aunt when she got physical with him. Hope reportedly showed up to a family function, and was confrontational with her nephew in her hometown of Seattle. During the altercation, she allegedly called her nephew a “pussy” when he called his mom, Hope’s sister, to inform his mother Hope was at the get together. When the nephew retreated to another room, he told police that he told Solo, “I then told her to get her cunt face out of my house.” She then proceeded to attack her 17-year-old nephew, which included pulling his hair and punching him. As the altercation progressed, the nephew recounted, "I then went into a back room and got an old gun that does not work, pointed it at her and she kept coming at me. She didn't leave but walked around me cornering me like a shark.” Hope’s sister wanted to make sure and clarify that the gun that was pulled was indeed a BB gun. Solo was recently released from jail today, and released this statement: “I would like to apologize to my fans, teammates, coaches, marketing partners and the entire US soccer and Seattle Reign FC communities for my involvement in a highly unfortunate incident this past weekend. I understand that as a public figure, I am held to a higher standard of conduct.” This is the first time Solo has spoken out about the incident, where she wrote a lengthy message to her fans. She loves her family, and hates her recent actions and words. “I love my family dearly. We, like all families, have our challenges but my sincere hope is that we are able to resolve this situation as a family. Adversity has always made us stronger and I know this situation will be no different.” What do you think about this whole situation? It definitely sounds like no family gathering I’ve ever had! Would you ever get into a physical altercation with your aunt? I know I definitely wouldn’t--my aunt would kick my butt! Keep Up With PopWrapped On The Web!
