How To Get Away With Murder: 04×11 ‘He’s A Bad Father’

Laurel and Mr. Castillo are knee-deep in a custody battle. Will the court decide if he is a good or bad father?

Last time we saw the group, they were all back together, only everything is in its usual pandemonium state. Todd Denver is on to Bonnie and she could be in danger. Good news is that Laurel was released but when she was with Annalise and Frank, her mother called.

Laurel is on the phone with her mother speaking frantically in French when Annalise's phone rings and it's the boys with the information about Nate's dad. Laurel says her mom can help us. Laurel lets her mom think that her father killed Dominick. Annalise serves it to Laurel and tells her to tell her mom to back off or Annalise will not help her. Like mother, like daughter. Laurel knows her mom won't back off.

While Laurel gets ready for court, the rest of the group is wondering why Wes left that voicemail for Dominick yet said nothing to any of them. The boys then dive back into Annalise's class action and Annalise dives back to Nate. Nate admits to planting the file so that he is could make sure he was really doing the right thing.

At the courthouse, Laurel's mom arrived and is thanking Annalise for all of her help. On their way in, Laurel spots her father and has her mother escorted away by Michaela. Laurel walks up to her father and asks how her son is doing, her dad tells her that he is almost able to come home and she could have him if she hands over the hard drive. Of course, she won't do it. Mr. Castillo then claims that what happened between him and Wes was a misunderstanding.

Laurel is now on the stand and Annalise is questioning her about drug use. Laurel's drug test prenatal had all been negative, but the validity of these tests are up for debate, as well as the ones taken after the baby was born. Laurel said that she woke up hysterical because her son was taken, not because she is actually crazy.

During a lunch break, Michaela tries to get Frank on board with doing some digging into Wes's voicemail. Frank tells her that Annalise has Bonnie on it.

Cut to Bonnie. Bonnie is working on her computer and realizes that someone is copying it. She is probably correct.

Back on the stand. Laurel is being examined by her father's attorney. He is questioning her about her thoughts on abortion. He also makes a case for her previous substance abuse.

Annalise returns to Nate with information that Asher and Connor found. His father is a candidate for her class action. Nate and Annalise are able to go see his father that night. According to the prison he has been in solitary for 2 years, also Nate hasn't seen him since he was 15. When Nate Sr. is told he is a candidate he is reluctant to sign. When he asks why she would do this for him, she says "for your son". Nate Sr. is not very thrilled with her answer and expressed that Nate is not his son anymore. That's when Nate starts to speak up. Nate Sr. becomes hysterical and is taken out of the room.

Oliver and Connor are at home and Oliver confesses that he is starting a fundraiser to get money for Simon's parents to come visit. Connor starts speaking as his lawyer and says that Oliver is doing too much and his actions look suspicious. We feel like this might come back to haunt them.

Laurel and her mother are at Laurel's place. Laurel shows her a picture of Wes, but then her mom is more interested in Frank. Laurel's mom is trying to convince her that she is doing better, but Laurel does not want it to be about her mother. She wants it to be about her getting her baby back.

Bonnie meets with Frank in a parking garage to tell him about Todd bugging the place. Frank is starting to think Mr. Castillo did not even kill Wes. Wonder where this is coming from?

Back in court, Frank is staring down Mr. Castillo, when Laurel comes in. Laurel asks where her mother is. She ends up outside with Annalise. Annalise can sense that Laurel's mother might be backing out. Laurel's mom is getting defensive that she can testify. She doesn't seem too stable.

Annalise has her on the stand and her questioning is a little bit harsh. She is calling into question her abilities to be a good mother. Laurel's mom then admits that Laurel was in charge of taking care of her mother while she got through her own mental health issues.

Isaac shows up to testify. Only Annalise has a light bulb to go on. Nate's father never had a psych evaluation. Only Nate is now against it because he wants to let his father go. But, Annalise is insistent that he is the perfect case because the system repeatedly let him down.

Nate agrees and goes to sit down with his father. His father is still hesitant to talk. Nate tries to tell his father that he is sick. That his anger and outbursts are part of an illness.

Isaac now takes the stand at Laurel's trial. He is, of course, backing up his statement. And Mr. Castillo's lawyer, of course, calls on his past addiction and his daughter's suicide. His lawyer goes way too far and says that Isaac is the prime suspect in his daughter's murder. Although this case has been closed, Todd Denver is reopening it and framing him. This causes his testimony to be stricken from the record.

Annalise meets with Bonnie who confirms the whole thing. Frank knocks on the door and says that the judge has come to a decision.

Unfortunately, Laurel is not granted custody and Laurel's father has extended custody. Laurel also has no visitation, currently.

An upset Laurel is at home with her mother. She is starting to question if she is wrong about her father. Laurel's mother tells her that doubting herself is what he wants.

Annalise tries to call Isaac, but no answer. Then Nate shows up at her door with the signed paperwork from his father. He wants to take her to dinner and a whole lot more. But she says that they can't and he leaves. We think Annalise should go see Isaac.

Nate Sr. is at the prison going through his cell and is freaking out that someone took something from him. But they didn't. He was looking for a picture of him and Nate.

Michaela goes home and Oliver and Connor are there having a dance party over Nate Sr. But, Michaela interrupts it with the bad news about Laurel.

Just as we hoped, Annalise went to Isaac's. She is yelling that she knows it isn't true. But she starts looking through windows. She can't see but Isaac is passed out in her chair.

Bonnie and Frank met up in the streets again. Bonnie got Wes's call records. He only called Dominick once, but guess who he met up with. Laurel's mother. We knew her appearance seemed a little off.

Things are about to get a little more complicated! And we can't wait to watch it all fall apart! There is only one episode left before we have to go a few weeks without. We are pretty sure there is going to be a lot more drama next week! Watch ABC Thursday at 10:00 pm EST to see what happens next!
