If you've found yourself with post-Mockingjay
blues, or distraught over only one more Hunger Games
film to look forward to...it may be your lucky day. Though Suzanne Collins only penned three novels of the young adult series, now developed into four feature films, Director Francis Lawrence is offering hope that the world of Panem may not be gone for good.
Lawrence explained to MTV,
"Everybody is thinking about it, and talking about it, I just think that one has to go into that world carefully. Because I think a huge part of what makes the stories great is that it was really built on this idea of the consequence of war, and you have an amazing character like Katniss at the center of it."
The Catching Fire
director added, "And so to just say, 'Oh, we're still in the Hunger Games
world', I think is really risky, and you need to make sure that you have something new to say, and either new characters need to be created that are just as compelling as Katniss."
Despite the obvious risk, Lawrence seems to be intrigued by exploring the untold stories, concluding, "It's a tricky thing, but I'm definitely open to talking about it, and I think everybody's thinking about it. Everybody loves the world and the ideas."
The most likely scenario would see a possible prequel to the rise of the Capitol, or perhaps one of the previous Hunger Games? Quite frankly, I'll take whatever I can get as long as the door for future installments stay open.
What are your thoughts, would you like to see another film after Mockingjay Part 2
