Two new famous faces have joined the cast of Sir Ian McKellen’s Sherlock Holmes drama.
The Thick Of It’s Roger Allam, and Vicious co-star Frances De La Tour are both on board to star alongside Mckellen in the upcoming film Mr. Holmes.
McKellen will play Sherlock at 93 years old, retired in Surrey with his housekeeper and her son. The film is based on a Mitch Cullin novel with the screenplay by Jeffrey Hatcher and is set in 1947 with Holmes living out his retirement, haunted by an unsolved case from 50 years earlier.
Sir Ian recently revealed the first picture of himself in costume as Sherlock Holmes.

Mr. Holmes will also star Patrick Kennedy, Hiroyuki Sanada, Phil Davis, Milo Parker and Laura Linney and is set to be released in 2015.
