Thor’s Idris Elba is negotiating for a role in the third installment of the recent Star Trek franchise.

The already stellar cast of the rebooted Star Trek films could shine even brighter with the addition of Idris Elba.

Variety reports that the Thor and Pacific Rim star is in early negotiations to appear as the lead villain in the third Star Trek film. There are no current details regarding Elba’s possible role, though some speculate Elba will be taking on the guise of a Klingon leader. The crew of the Enterprise have yet to face off against the ferocious alien race in the film franchise.

Cast members Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, and Anton Yelchin have all been confirmed to reprise their roles for the third film. Production will begin in June with Justin Lin directing.
