Staff WriterThe Smoking Gun reports that the attractive and affable young musician had gained a large female following through live performance videos on YouTube. Investigators claimed Lombardo “took advantage of his position as an Internet star” to elicit underage girls to send him sexually explicit material of themselves. Lombardo told clinical psychologist Dr. Norman Lesswing that his actions were “stupid and dumb.” He denied, however, that he “manipulated, coerced or met with any of these females for the purpose of having sexual relations.” Lombardo also claimed that of about fifty fans with whom he engaged in cybersex, approximately 80% were 18 or older. He also noted that he was given “literally hundreds of opportunities, while touring, to ‘hook up,'” but only had relations with a college student once. Upon his release, the 25-year-old Lombardo will also serve five years of probation and must also register as a convicted sex offender. Lombardo was facing a maximum sentence of 20 years.
