Even though the official NFL season has just started Thursday, plans are already being made for the 2014 Super Bowl.
It was announced earlier that the game will be held at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, February 2, but we are now getting word that Grammy-winner Bruno Mars will perform at the halftime show, according to a person familiar with the entertainment plans for the “big game.”
The person spoke to The Associated Press anonymously, since no official word will be given until Sunday at an event in Times Square.
The singer has enough of a following to spark some interest. Mars’ latest album, “Unorthodox Jukebox,” earned him his first number one in the US, with four singles hitting number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Mars will be following Beyonce’s performance from last year’s game in which the Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers 34-31.
