Former coach Cee Lo Green is reportedly in advanced talks to rejoin The Voice for season five! An executive at NBC has told The Wrap that “we are not there yet, but working toward it”
The ‘F*** You’ singer left the competition alongside Christina Aguilera last December. The two were replaced by Shakira and Usher.
Executive Producer Mark Burnett said at the time that he expected coaches to rotate, as they are all working artists – and it seems he was right! As we have previously reported, Christina Aguilera has allegedly agreed a $12.5 million deal to return to the NBC singing competition, and Cee Lo Green appears set to join her.
It is not yet clear whether Cee Lo’s return would mean freshman mentor Usher would be forced out of the show, as Shakira has been due to Aguilera’s homecoming. Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are currently in negotiations, however, and are expected to stay on for the next season and possibly longer following that, sources have said.
So it looks as if all four original coaches are set to be reinstated for the next season of The Voice! What are your thoughts on this Voice fans? Let us know!
