A&E has found huge success in a rather unlikely place; the beards and beauties of the backwoods millionaire family the Robertson’s. The Louisiana family behind the hit show, Duck Dynasty are busy making duck calls, decoys, guest appearances at Cabela’s and starring in a hit show that has made them household names.
The family that prays together stays together and when season 4 launces this August, the television family is introducing an addition to the family. At 47 years old, Pastor Alan Robertson isn’t exactly a new edition to the brood, and due to privacy concerns for his family and congregation, the eldest son has remained elusive and unseen until now.
“My children are grown, but all of my brothers’ children are teenagers now, so how is this crazy world going to impact them?” Alan told the New York Post. “We think about John Luke and Sadie, who are such a big part of the show and they’re teenagers, you know? They need to be just normal teenagers. We pray about that.”
It appears the former Pastor is changing his tune and taking on a new role handling Duck Commander’s [the company’s] marketing and public relations. One thing you might be missing from this new Robertson is the iconic Robertson beard; yes, this clean shaven gent only let’s his facial hair grow during hunting season according to an article by the New York Post,
“The beards are so iconic,” admits Alan, the eldest brother, who only lets his facial hair go wild during hunting season. “All this time I’ve been flying under the radar; I can go to Starbucks and get Mama coffee.”
“That is about to change,” Phil says in his deep, Southern drawl.
Will Alan be forced to grow a beard or will he manage to maintain his Starbucks suitable appearance?
