Joy Behar, who has been with the show since its inception in 1997, recently announced that after 16 years as a host, she will be leaving The View in August. McCarthy could potentially fill Behar’s now vacant chair.

A source is quoted as saying: “She is in serious talks right now. Her show isn’t quite working out, so she’s definitely open to it.”

Jenny McCarthy has been hosting her own talk show called The Jenny McCarthy Show on VH1 since February.
“The cast and crew get a kick out of Jenny,” a source from the set stated. “She’s a good fit. She may not be able to carry a show, but she works well with a group ensemble.”

Sherri Shephard has made it clear that she is on team Jenny, but Brooke Shields is also rumored to be a potential replacement for Behar. However, there is a possibility that Elizabeth Hasselbeck could be exiting the show which would open up another spot for Shields.

Barbara Walters denied Hasselbeck’s possible departure when the rumor spawned back in March.
