Hugh Jackman has torn apart rumours that he has signed a $100 million deal to reprise his role as bad-ass superhero, Wolverine, in four more movies.
“No it’s not true,” Jackman told Entertainment Weekly on the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past. “I would never do that. I’ve never done that mainly because, for the fans and for me, each time I’ve gone around there’s been a really good reason to do it and I don’t know what that reason is from here. I’m in the middle of making this and I just promoted the other and I’m really happy with the way The Wolverine came out,” Jackman said.
The Wolverine is the sixth movie in the X-Men franchise, in which Jackman has been heavily involved as the cigar smoking, motorbike driving, clawed mutant. He is currently filming for the seventh installment, Days of Future Past, which has already been causing excitement among Marvel fans.
Earlier this year, director Bryan Singer tweeted a photo of Jennifer Lawrence in her Mystique make-up.
In July, Patrick Stewart, who will be returning as Professor X, posed the question ‘Is this the coolest movie cast photo of the summer?’ Well, with Sir Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Ellen Page and, of course, Hugh Jackman, we’re thinking yes!

So, maybe Jackman will decide to hang up the leather jacket, but hopefully there will be another ‘really good reason’ and we will see more of our favourite adamantium hero.
In the meantime, there is still Days of Future Past to look forward to with a planned release date of May 2014.
