Is Wolverine’s Big Screen Run Coming To An End?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Hugh Jackman’s tenure as Wolverine may be coming to an end. In speaking to MTV about his upcoming X-Men venture, X-Men: Days of Future Past, the actor said, point blank, “It may be the last.”

For those of you who may be unaware (or have lost count), Days of Future Past will be the sixth film in which Jackman stars as the iconic Marvel mutant. Yes, we did say sixth.
As a matter of fact, it seems he has become so accustomed to donning the adamantium claws that it didn’t hit him that it may be time to hang them up until he was almost finished filming X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Jackman said: “I came back on set with three weeks to go, and that’s when I went, ‘Well, who knows? Maybe there’s no more Wolverine. Maybe this is it. Who knows? Maybe’.”
As with most Hollywood endings, only time will tell if this truly is the end for Jackman’s incarnation of Wolverine.
On the bright side, though, Jackman said he “made the most of those last few weeks.” He, of course, took things from the set (who wouldn’t?) and said, “Halloween, come to me and I’ll hook you up.” Let’s hope he keeps the claws to himself, shall we? Something tells me those aren’t kid-friendly.
Whether this is Wolverine’s grand finale or not, Jackman says that we should be excite for Days of Future Past:”I keep saying it’s like two movies in one, but with the size of it it’s really three in one. It really is going to blow people away because of the story.”
The film is set to hit the UK on May 22, 2014 in the UK, followed the next day by a US release.
