Isla Fisher: ‘I Am Not Amy Adams!’

Isla Fisher shared an important message on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Isla Fisher is sharing an important message: “I am not Amy Adams!”

In a funny “public service announcement” video on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the Nocturnal Animals and Wedding Crashers star made it clear that though she and Adams share a number of similarities, “Amy Adams and I are completely different people.”

Speaking with Kimmel before the video, Fisher told the late-night host a hilarious story about Lady Gaga mistaking her for Adams at a Vanity Fair Oscar party one year. Not wanting to disappoint the mega-star, Fisher played along, even when Adams herself showed up!

Isla Fisher’s clearly got a great sense of humor, and she’s bringing that sensibility to her series of children’s books about an “anarchic, ebullient babysitter” named Marge. The first book was entitled, Marge in Charge, and the latest is Marge and the Great Train Rescue. The Marge series isn’t Fisher’s first foray into the writing world, though. As a teen, she wrote two young adult novels with her mother (Seduced by Fame and Bewitched)!

Fisher, who is married to Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen and mother to their three children, told The Telegraph last year that her writing process has involved a unique crowdsourcing technique: “I was able to share the stories with a whole litany of tiny editors: all my friends’ kids. And what’s great about children is that they leave the room when they’re bored. It’s brutal.”

With her expanding role in the world of book publishing and upcoming on-screen role in Tag (costarring Jeremy Renner, Rashida Jones, Jon Hamm, and Ed Helms), Isla Fisher continues to stake out a unique place for herself in Hollywood. But if you happen to mistake her for Amy Adams? She gets it. After all, “Amy Adams has auburn red [hair]; my hair is light auburn red.”
