Looks like Miley unfollowing Liam on Twitter meant exactly what everyone thought it did; the engagement is officially OVER! The reps for the musician and the actor have confirmed to People that the engagement has ended between the two stars.
According to sources with E!, Cyrus was the one to end the engagement, with Hemsworth reps saying that it was “Miley’s decision, after coming to grips with Liam what she believe was less that faithful to her.”
The couple had met on the set of their 2010 film, The Last Song, and were later engaged after an on and off relationship in May 2012. Earlier this year, though, they did postpone the wedding with hopes of getting married at a later time, but it looks like there will not be a wedding after all.
The pair was last spotted together at the red carpet premiere for Hemsworth’s film, Paranoia, in Los Angeles on August 8. While she supported him at his premiere, he was noticeably absent when she had her infamous performance at the VMAs just a few weeks back. Since they were last seen together, it’s like they’ve been living different lives, with Cyrus promoting her new album, and Hemsworth getting ready for the sequel to the box office smash, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
The announcement of the ended engagement comes just after Cyrus spoke to Harper’s Bazaar in their latest issue about the a wedding saying, “I definitely don’t have time to deal with a wedding right now, but I will at some point.”
Sadly for Cyrus, it looks like the some point for planning a wedding will not be happening any time in the near future.
