The rumors have stopped flying, so put down your catcher’s mits! Elizabeth Olsen confirmed in an interview with MTV that she will be starring as Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron. She also says that she will be teaming once again with Godzilla co-star, Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Until Olsen’s confirmation, Joss Whedon had not told fans who he had planned to play the Scarlet and Quicksilver sibling duo in the upcoming film. Taylor-Johnson’s name started coming up as a possible actor for the Quicksilver role this past summer. It wasn’t until last month that he was confirmed to play opposite Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. Olsen spoke to MTV News’  Josh Horowitz, joking that Samuel L. Jackson’s earlier interview with The Wall Street Journal let her keep silent on her involvement with the new Avengers project. With her role confirmed, Olsen says that, while she doesn’t know much about the film, she is excited to be working with Taylor-Johnson again. “We get to play husband and wife, and we get to play twin brother and sister. It’s also fun because even though in Godzilla we play husband and wife, we don’t have a lot of scenes together. I just love him. I love his family. I love his kids. I’m so excited…to actually work with each other. I think it’s going to be fun.” Olsen also comments on her soon-to-be-director, Joss Whedon. She says, “He’s very smart. He’s too smart. He might be too smart. Some people are too smart for their own good, but he’s amazing.” After creating the universes of BuffyAngelDollhouse and working on several well-known films, Whedon has wowed fans with his contribution to the Marvel universe! To have him directing another Avengers movie—simply awesome! Avengers: Age of Ultron assembles our beloved superhero team in theaters May 1, 2015.
