Actor and singer, Jaycee Chan, the son of Asian movie legend Jackie Chan, has been arrested  in Beijing, China on drug charges. Also implicated is Taiwanese actor Kai Ko. Both men were held up when Chinese authorities conducted a drug raid on Thursday in Beijing’s Dongcheng district.

Both men were tested and proven positive for marijuana use.

In a subsequent search on Chan’s apartment. The police found 100 grams of the said drug. If he is proven guilty in the trial, he is facing up to three years in jail.

China’s state broadcaster CCTV has aired a video of Chan showing the police where the drugs were hidden in his apartment. It also showed Ko making an apology.

Jaycee Chan is a famous actor and singer in his own right in the Chinese speaking world. He initially started his career in his native city of Hongkong before he transferred to Taiwan to further his music career. Although quite popular, his movies and albums were seldom successful. He has a penchant for luxury cars and is known for his wild night-outs. This has led to Jackie Chan being frustrated with his son’s lavish spending and financial problems.

While attending an awards ceremony in Beijing in 2011, Jackie Chan announced he will be donating all of his assets to charity after his death, to let his son earn his own keep and prove his honor.
