Jacob Ezra is a fellow Music Journalist by day, but… he is also an artist himself. Jacob is from Vancouver, Canada and he is quickly making a name for himself alongside his journalism. The young emerging artist beautifully crafts together amazing, vibey music that leaves you honestly, in love and wanting more.
He is both a vocalist and producer, creating all the beats for his debut EP The Organic Sounds in his bedroom. Relatively new to the music scene, Ezra has been making a name for himself both in the realms of music and writing, through his songs as well as his writing for renowned blog EARMILK. Working with a variety of genres including hip-hop, electronic, and folk- he strives to create a blend that is uniquely his own.
Jacob Ezra’s debut EP The Organic Sounds is an exercise in free expression, capturing an unfiltered image of his creative process. Balancing chaotic improvisation with catchy grooves, it is both effortless and laborious, both peaceful and frenzied. It is this juxtaposition of disparate elements that makes The Organic Sounds stand out, avoiding the cliches of traditional lo-fi hip-hop and electronica without abandoning these genres.
The project is a personal journey that expresses the disarray of emotions present in all of us. Recorded entirely in Ezra’s bedroom, it’s the result of an artist looking within, blocking out the world and letting his work flow. The EP features up-and-coming Detroit rapper Jay Squared and bass from elisz, and has had singles covered in PopWrapped, Vizdumb, and more – with so much on the way, it is no secret that Music is everything that Jacob Ezra is. There are very few artists that you can say truly embody the art of being an artist, but Jacob Ezra does exactly that.
‘The Organic Sounds’ is available for streaming now. If you want to follow Jacob Ezra’s journey, follow him on Instagram, and Twitter for more.
