Emmy award winner and Golden Globe nominee James Brolin is set to appear on the season finale of Hallmark Channel's original series When Calls the Heart. The drama is the second scripted series for the network and went off with a strong start when it premiered at the beginning of last month. Starring Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing and Lori Laughlin, the series is based off of the 1983 novel by Janette Oke. It follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Krakow), a school teacher, in a 19th century coal mining town in the West Frontier. She has to adjust to a different lifestyle that she grew up with. Brolin, who came to fame after portraying Dr. Steven Kiley in the 1970s series Marcus Welby, M.D., will come on to the season finale as Circuit Judge, Jedidiah Black. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Black is described to be “a legendary man who is insolent, insufferable and incorruptible who is welcomed to Coal Valley in a bid to bring justice to the town.” Most recently Brolin has been seen on many television shows such as Community and ABC's Castle. He even starred in one of Hallmark's latest original movies and first holiday movie, Christmas with Tucker. You can catch the season one finale of When Calls the Heart on March 29 and this might not even be the only time Brolin's character will appear on the series! We could see him in the second series, but we'll just have to wait and see!
