Tis a good time to be a Marvel fan! Writer/Director James Gunn posted a little teaser on Tuesday afternoon that, “After 48 days straight, without a day off, the first draft of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is done.”

Groot made the ultimate sacrifice when he sheltered his friends from the falling Dark Aster, saving them from certain death. And I won’t lie, I cried a little bit. Groot was one seriously lovable, ginormous sentient plant and in spite of only being able to speak three words through most of the movie, he was a complete character. But by the end of the movie, little-sapling-baby-Groot was dancing…and it made me wonder.
Who is Peter Quill’s father? (This one’s a little spoilery, so BE WARNED!)
Better yet, who will PLAY Peter Quill’s father? Hey James, how about Sean Bean? I love that man. And I think it would work. They look similar enough and I would totally buy Bean as the leader of an alien empire (if we’re following the comics, of course).

The music to Guardians of the Galaxy was almost another character in the film and held just as much emotional punch. I think everyone remembers the moment Hooked On A Feeling kicked in when the first teaser trailer debuted. The music was a brilliant way to allow us all to connect with the film; to draw us into this alien world and stay there, happily, as the story unravelled around us. So, what to expect in the next mix tape? A little Neil Diamond? Maybe some Blondie? Ramones?
Will Nebula be back? And will we learn more about her?
Okay, it stands to reason she would return. We last saw her chopping off her own mechanical hand and plummeting onto a passing Ravager ship rather than taking her sister’s (Gamora’s) hand for help. I suppose we can assume she was heading back to Thanos but I would like to know more about her. Karen Gillan did such an amazing job with her and looked stunning with her shaved head and that incredible makeup. She needs more screen time!
