James is well known for his recurring role in the X-Men movies but his new role is completely different. In his new film, Filth, James is playing a deep character with many crazy “habits.” The movie is adapted from the 1998 novel Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh. The movie is being directed by newbie Jon S. Baird. James, in character, looks very rough and is all about sex, alcohol, and drugs. He is a bit scandalous in this British film because of his sexual threat to his sister in the movie and in real life, Joy McAvoy. This is the first time ever that this two sibling have been one screen together. Many know McAvoy from Macbeth, which took place at London’s Trafalgar Studios and X-Men. This new character take is very exciting to see. Filth will first be released in Scotland on September 27th. It will later hit the rest of the UK on October 4th. James said Filth is “bonkers… It asks a lot of the audience, and there will be people who walk out of the cinema, I'm sure of it. And there will be people who don't understand it and get totally lost. But for those who get it, I think they'll really love it.” When James was asked about his role as Charles Xavier. Especially if he has been fitted for a skull cap he said "I think I'd rather just go proper baldy – shave it, and wear a wig for when I don't need to be bald." "I'm getting on a bit. I'm not gonna look good bald… But, yeah, it's gonna be good. We've got an amazing bunch of people – we've got Fassbender back, Nick Hoult back, Jennifer Lawrence back – we all had a cracking time last time. And the old guys – I don't mean old people, I mean the people from the old movies." It seems like Filth and X-Men: Days of Future Past will be big hits. So are you excited to see a new side of James McAvoy? Will you see this risqué film? And are you excited for the next X-Men movie?
