Jane The Virgin Enlists Britney Spears For Season 2

‘Jane The Virgin’ is coming back to The CW with its second season this coming fall and it was revealed that Britney Spears will be making an appearance.

Jane The Virgin turned out to be one of the most successful freshman shows of the previous television season. As the show is coming back to The CW with a second season this fall, it was revealed that pop princess Britney Spears will be joining the cast as a guest star.

Britney Spears will put her music career aside for a while, in order to make a cameo in The CW’s Stateside adaptation of Venezuelan telenovela Juana la Virgen. She is set to appear in the fifth episode of Jane The Virgin’s second season, portraying the nemesis of Jane’s dad, played by Jaime Camil. The songstress took to Twitter to make the announcement herself and seemed really excited about it.

It’s not the first time Britney Spears flirts with acting, as she’s made several television appearances over the years, apart from starring in 2002′s teen flick Crossroads. The entertainer not only joined the cast of Glee in her first tribute episode in 2010, but she also previously brought the laughs in 2006 with a guest on CBS’ Will & Grace. In addition to that, she made a cameo on How I Met Your Mother in 2008 and it was so well-received that she was signed for another appearance on the show.

Make sure to tune in on The CW for Jane The Virgin’s return on October 12, at 9 PM.
