So who else can’t wait another minute for Janelle Monae’s upcoming album “The Electric Lady”? Unfortunately we will have to wait, and for more than a minute, but it’s sounding more and more like this album will be worth the wait!
In addition to her badass collaboration with Erykah Badu, Monae will be having other superstars join her on “The Electric Lady”. Billboard confirmed today that she’ll be making beautiful music with the likes of Miguel and Prince.
Of the track on her album that features the elusive Prince, Monae says “It’s not every day that he collaborates. I’m honored and humbled that he trusted me. He is forever my friend, and I am forever indebted. I can’t say too much else about it.”
The track “Primetime” features Miguel and a funked out sample of Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind?” Monae says this one is a love song.
The first single off “The Electric Lady” has already been released – that would be “Q.U.E.E.N.” - Monae’s collaboration with Erykah Badu. It’s pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.
Monae is Billboard’s current cover girl, so be sure to pick up a copy!
