Jason Derulo is preparing to release his fourth studio album, Everything Is 4, in a couple of days. The record became available for streaming earlier today, so we got the chance to take a listen to his collaboration with Jennifer Lopez and Matoma, titled “Try Me”.
Hearing Jason Derulo and Jennifer Lopez teamed up, you’re probably expecting some kind of banger. However, “Try Me” is a more laid-back and chill-y tune. With an all summer-y melody and some island-flavored beats, the two artists lay their soulful vocals on top of the Matoma-produced cut. Despite not being what everyone expected, the song isn’t bad at all and manages to please the listeners. In fact, it is kind of a catchy grower and could end up being an easy hit for them both.
“Try Me” has not been picked as a single, but it will likely end up being one. Especially since both Jason Derulo and J.Lo could join their killer dance moves in a music video. Everything is 4 is expected to come out on June 29 and the lead single, “Want To Want Me” has already made quite an impact and its follow-up, “Cheyenne”, is already on the way. For now, take a listen to “Try Me” below.
