When you look up Jason Segel on wikipedia and read that he is not only an actor, but also a screenwriter, songwriter and a musician, you start to wonder how one person can be good at so many things. But it seems like Segel thought that wasn’t quite enough yet, as he has now taken up writing books as a side-job!
According to Hollywood.com, the ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star wrote the storyline of an upcoming trilogy when he was 21, but he had sold the script to another company, which he only bought it back from in 2011. He is planning to turn it into a young adult series which will see a few kids “facing their fears,” although no further info on the books itself has been released yet.
If the trilogy turns out to be a success, it will eventually be made into a film, but for now, Segel just looks ahead to the moment when the books get published, which according to him will most likely be somewhere later this year.
Whether Segel is as good an author as he is an actor still remains to be seen, but that the books will catch on seems to be almost a given fact, as he has gathered quite a lot of fans over the years, who all cannot wait to see the result of a new direction in his career. Either way, he definitely doesn’t lack the ambition to become a big name in the world of authors!
