Some more information has come to light regarding Jayma Mays, and other characters’, departure from Glee. In an interview with Metro, Mays revealed that her exodus from the hit show, of which she has been a cast member since its inception, was not her own choice, but a mandate from the show’s creators. "It wasn't my choice. The creators decided to do it. Some other characters will also be leaving this season. It's very sad to be going but I understand why they do it." I’d be lying if I said that I agreed with Murphy’s decision to do away with some of these characters that we’ve grown so attached to. While it did make sense that we would have to say goodbye to some of them after graduation, Murphy pretty much made that a moot point by following Kurt, Rachel, and later Santana to New York, and having the originals come back for frequent cameos. As far as Mays’ Emma Pillsbury and Dot-Marie Jones’ Coach Bieste goes; their absence makes no sense at all. They’re teachers; their place is at McKinley, so why were they given the boot? Mays also touched on the heart-breaking tribute to Cory Monteith that aired on October 10. "It's been really hard. We just filmed his memorial episode and it was a very difficult thing to do. It's been a very sad and difficult year for everyone." Well, Jayma, I believe that may be an understatement. Don’t feel too bad, for Miss Pillsbury, though. She has found a home beside Will Arnett, Beau Bridges and Margo Martindale in the new show, The Millers.
