The professional stock car racing driver, Jeff Gordon, posted a picture of him and a girl named Leah Wasson, who has been battling cancer for a long time captioning it with: “Lost someone very special to me & the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation. Leah Wasson of Pittsboro, IN fought so hard against cancer.”
Jeff Gordon himself was raised in Pittsboro, IN, hence his deep feelings for Leah. She could have been a family friend from former times. However, Gordon’s motivation behind the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation was not only to help people from his home town.
Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation was found in 1999 to help and hopefully secure children with severe pediatric cancer. Jeff Gordon does not only support the Children’s Foundation but also the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital in Concord, NC.
We send our love to Leah and her family and friends!
