At a hotel in New York City, we got the chance to catch up with Jennie Garth about Kids Vision for Life, a charity that helps kids from low-income situations get a pair of glasses in order to help them at school and their everyday lives.

“We have a truck that goes around to schools where the kids are given an eye exam and are equipped and given their new glasses that same day,” Garth said.

The truck travels all around the country, selecting schools from very low-income towns where kids are most likely unable to afford to get a proper eye exam or new glasses.

“The kids appreciate them and they treat them like little gifts,” she said.

If necessary, the kids can also be equipped with contact lenses. The truck returns every year to give them a yearly eye exam and equip them with new glasses.

“Anyone can help out. They can just go to the “THE eyeSOLUTION” Facebook page and for every like that the page gets, $1 will be donated to Kids Vision for Life.”

The charity, which is based in Dallas, has already provided glasses to 1,000 kids around the country.

“It’s really important to sit down and talk with kids and let them know the importance of glasses,” she added.

We were also able to catchup with her about her new show Mystery Girls, which also stars her former 90210 costar, Tori Spelling.

“It’s always great and so much fun to work with Terri. It’s a fun environment. She’s like a sister to me and being able to work with her again is the best,” she said.

Garth is also happy to hear that others have used this show as a way to go back and visit her past work. Along with 90210, Garth also starred in What I Like About You alongside Amanda Bynes.

“I think it’s the best thing when you hear that people are also watching these past shows. They are multi-generational, especially 90210, which is just a classic. It’s nice to see that people from different generations can enjoy these shows no matter what year it is or how old they are,” she said.

Mystery Girls airs on Wednesdays at 8:30 PM on ABC Family.
