Jennifer Lawrence To Produce Her First Movie, A Film Adaptation Of The Novel The Glass Castle

The Hunger Games superstar, Jennifer Lawrence, is set to produce her first film. The 23-year-old actress, who is gearing up for the release of The Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire, will be producing an adaptation of the novel, The Glass Castle.

J-Law was persuaded to take the job by her mother. She explained, “My mother is like the lucky charm with these kinds of things. She read Winter’s Bone and Hunger Games and when I read The Glass Castle, I thought it was amazing, so we found Gil Netter, the producer who had the rights, and he and I started talking and now we’re developing.”

She continued to confirm, “We have a director and a writer and it’s getting going.”

The novel, which was written by Jeanette Walls, is a memoir which tells the story of Walls’ upbringing with a mother who was an artist and a father who was an alcoholic. The upbringing has been described as dysfunctional and the novel received awards including the Christopher Award.

According to reports, it seems Destin Cretton is currently set to direct the film.
