Jennifer Lawrence and The Hunger Games director are teaming up again, to tell tale of murder in Iceland Deadline reports that a new film based on Burial Rites by Hannah Kent will see the creative collaboration of The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence and director Gary Ross. Once again they will tell the story of a strong female in the bleakest of circumstances.  In this instance, Lawrence will play a young woman accused of murder in an 1829 Iceland who becomes the last woman executed there. This is the second film announced for the pair in the span of two weeks. The new update of East of Eden will also be helmed by Ross and see Lawrence in the lead female role. This follows a trend for Lawrence who is also continuing a professional relationship with Director David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook) and will star in his upcoming film American Hustle. Ross and Lawrence saw creative and commercial success with the release of The Hunger Games. Despite the positive reception for the film, Ross decided to not return for the sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire to much surprise. The Guardian states that Ross’s official response to the controversy was that the studio Lionsgate would not provide the adequate time schedule to make the film he wanted. Lionsgate retorted that it was Ross’s own busy schedule that was the problem. Francis Lawrence will direct the film, to be released on November 22nd this year.
