Jenny from the block is adding another award to her glamorous shelf back home. The American Idol
judge is being honored at the GLAAD Media Awards with the Vanguard Award. This latest honor
is to recognize "artists and media professionals who, through, their work, have increased the visibility and understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community."
As a very outspoken supporter of marriage equality as well as being a producer of the ABC Family show The Fosters
, which is about a lesbian couple raising a family of adopted, biological and foster children, Jennifer Lopez certainly has an impressive resume! We here at PopWrapped absolutely believe this wonderful woman is worthy of the Vanguard Award.
Lopez explains, "When it comes to gay marriage, I just believe in love. I believe that when two people find each other and love each other, they should be able to spend their lives together with all the same benefits and privileges as everyone."
Past winners of the Vanguard Award include Josh Hutcherson, Janet Jackson, Kristin Chenoweth, Whoopi Goldberg, Drew Barrymore, Eric McCormack, Antonio Banderas, Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minnelli, and Sharon Stone.
The GLAAD Media Awards will take place next month on April 12th, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
