The relationship between Jenny Slate and Chris Evans was one that truly intrigued us all. It started when they both starred in the movie Gifted, coming to theaters this April.
They both got along, and even Jenny admitted in an interview with New York Magazine (and published on Vulture) how she wanted to be friends with him during the process.
But the thing about their relationship that breaks my heart is that Jenny stated that she shrugged off Chris in the beginning because of the image he held. It is understandable, but, also, that is truly a reflection on how we let ourselves view celebrities.
When she was asked to talk about Chris, Jenny was willing to open up about him without really having to be pushed. She wanted to let us all know what happened, and, really, we wouldn’t expect anything less from Jenny Slate.
“I don’t mind talking about him at all. He’s a lovely person. I don’t know. It feels like such a huge thing. Last year was a giant, big year for my heart. I’ve never, ever thought to keep anything private because that’s not really what I’m like, and now I’m learning those things, and they’re weird, kind of demented lessons to learn.”
But now she is looking to the future, which includes a press tour for the movie Gifted where she and Chris Evans had met. “I feel pretty relaxed about it right now. That’s because I know Chris and he’s a very nice man. And we’ve gone into our separate lives. But that doesn’t also mean that I’m going to sleep well the night before, you know?”
Though they are not together any longer, it still seems as if they only care about the other’s happiness, and that is truly remarkable. Gifted hits theaters April 12 of this year.
