Did you catch Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice? Well, if you answered yes to this question then you're familiar with the most recent adaptation of Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred, most recently brought to life by Michael Caine. Alfred was portrayed by acting great Jeremy Irons in Batman Vs. Superman and we think he did an exceptional job. Take a little peek at his work.

Jeremy Irons will return to the role for the upcoming Justice League film, which is great news for his fans.

Rumor has it, Jeremy Irons will also bring Alfred to life in Ben Affleck's standalone Batman film. Irons has a long history of amazing work including a 90s kid favorite, The Lion King as Scar. Confession time:  we are most excited about this news because Scar was our favorite character. For a little fun, remember this?

So, what do you think? Are you prepared for more Jeremy Irons in the Batman verse? Did you like him in Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice? We admit, we haven't seen it just yet but this news makes us intrigued enough to check it out. Irons lives among a class of actors that greats like Alan Rickman lived in. Remember when he brought Rickman's Die Hard Gruber justice through playing his brother in the third Die Hard film? Irons saved that film and we like the direction being taken in the Batman films. Alfred is becoming less of a butler and more of a badass. We approve!

Comment with your thoughts on this casting news, and, if you're disappointed, then tell us who you think would make an amazing Alfred. Did you want to see Michael Caine retake the role or were you more in touch with Michael Gough? They have all taken different takes on the role of Alfred and each one is special in their own right. Currently, Irons has really hit the nail on the head for us.
